What is activated carbon?

Activated carbon is made from organic materials such as coal, coconut, apricot shells or wood, which have a high natural carbon content. The material is slowly heated in a low-oxygen or oxygen-free environment to absorb water and impurities, producing a material called char. The char is then physically and chemically treated to greatly increase its surface area and form a submicroscopic pore network.

Common raw materials for preparing activated carbon include coal, coconut shells, wood, etc. Relying on Ningxia's high-quality anthracite resources, coal-based activated carbon is our advantage product.

Types of activated carbon

According to different materials, activated carbon can be divided into the following categories

Coconut shell activated carbon

Coconut shell activated carbon is made of high-quality coconut shells. The raw materials are screened, refined, s

team carbonized, and then produced through a series of processes such as impurity removal, activation screening, etc. It is widely used in metallurgy, petroleum power, food and beverage, drinking water, pure water, industrial water purification, precious metal extraction and other industries.

Coal-based activated carbon

This product uses high-quality anthracite as raw material, and has the characteristics of high strength, fast adsorption speed, large adsorption capacity, large specific surface area, and developed pore structure. It is mainly used for high-end air purification, waste gas purification, high-purity water treatment, wastewater treatment, sewage treatment, etc.

Wood activated carbon

Wood activated carbon is made of high-quality wood and is in powder form. It is made by a variety of processes such as high-temperature carbonization and activation. It is suitable for pharmaceutical, petrochemical, sugar making, beverage, wine purification and other industries. The main functions are decolorization, refining, purification and sewage treatment.

Activated carbon can also be divided into several types according to its shape.

Granular activated carbon

Granular activated carbon has the characteristics of developed pore structure, good adsorption performance, high mechanical strength, easy repeated regeneration, and low cost; it is used for liquid phase adsorption, gas phase adsorption, solvent recovery, etc.

Powdered activated carbon

Powdered activated carbon has the advantages of fast filtration speed, good adsorption performance, strong decolorization and deodorization ability, economic and durable, and is often used in liquid phase adsorption, decolorization and other applications.

Columnar activated carbon

Columnar activated carbon is widely used in toxic gas purification, waste gas treatment, industrial and domestic water purification, solvent recovery, etc.
